Duties Description This position is in the Strategic Operations Unit within the Design and Construction Group (D&C) in the Office of General Services (OGS).
Some of the responsibilities will include:
• Direct and facilitate executive initiatives.
• Identify and initiate new initiatives that will improve processes and procedures.
• Collaborate across all divisions to establish goals for each project and outline the criteria for success.
• Assist program areas in achieving their goals to solve business problems.
• Proactively identify potential problems and factors that may impact progress and proactively work to mitigate these issues.
• Assist in identifying and executing enhancements in organizational forms.
• Assign projects to other D&C staff, when applicable, and provide technical guidance and direction.
• Analyze and assess the progress of projects and initiatives.
• Recommend approaches to strengthen and expand the Division of Strategic Operations.
• Deliver presentations and trainings on updated administrative procedures, techniques, and any other changes that may impact program operations.
• Assist in the development of advisories, as it pertains to operational changes, and provide change management to ensure all staff are prepared and understand the changes.
• Assist in the preparation of project status reports.
• Contribute to other D&C initiatives, as needed.
• Perform supervisory duties.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Note:
The Office of the General Services (OGS) supports telecommuting where it is reasonable to do so based upon the agency’s mission and operational needs. Generally, employees new to OGS Design and Construction (D&C) will be restricted from telecommuting for at least 8 calendar weeks. After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if an employee’s duties and work performance are aligned with telecommuting, they may be allowed to do so. Upon approval to telecommute, OGS D&C employees may telecommute up to 4 days per pay period.
Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 21 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
