Duties Description Under the supervision of the Historic Site Manager or the Park Supervisor, the selected candidate will be involved in every aspect of historic site maintenance.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Operate self-propelled equipment and use such power equipment as a snow blower, weeder, and lawn mower.
• Perform building and ground maintenance and cleaning activities
• Upkeep of grounds, including such seasonal tasks as mowing, weeding, snow & ice removal; During fall months, the candidate will focus on leaf removal and maintaining equipment for the next season. During the winter months, the candidate will assist in snow removal and shoveling.
• Upkeep of buildings, including light maintenance such as cleaning restrooms, collecting trash, mopping, and vacuuming
• May also be required to drive a state vehicle off-site to other facilities for training or when scheduled for special events.
• May also serve as a representative to the public during special events, or perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform regular rounds of the historic site and buildings to ensure the safety of patrons, employees, and site assets, checking and locking doors, windows, and gates
• Will be responsible for using mechanical and electronic security devices during each shift.
• Check site mechanicals to be sure they are all in proper working order and reporting any issues
• Keep a log summarizing activities and all unusual circumstances is required.
• Perform regular rounds of the historic site and buildings to ensure the safety of patrons, employees, and site assets, checking and locking doors, windows, and gates.
• Will be responsible for using mechanical and electronic security devices during each shift.
• Check site mechanicals to be sure they are all in proper working order and reporting any issues.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
No minimum qualification per Civil Service.
Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor, including medium-heavy lifting and using step ladders.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
