Duties Description The Office of Counsel is seeking one paid Student Assistant for our Albany Office to assist in handling administrative tasks as well as research, writing and communications within the agency, and performing tasks related to preparation for administrative hearings. The Student Assistant will help preform administrative and substantive tasks such as: drafting responsive letters and inter-agency communications, compiling and redirecting documents, researching and analyzing applicable laws. This would be in addition to legal research and writing generally and specifically on issues related to Medicaid fraud and abuse, and/or program integrity. Additionally, the Student Assistant will be responsible for reviewing closed cases, prepare, and index the records for storage and preparing all necessary paperwork. Law students with an interest or concentration in Health Law are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications The selected candidate must be currently enrolled as part-time or full-time undergraduate, or graduate college students at an education institution
accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting
agency by the United States (U.S.) Department of Education/Secretary of Education. If you will not be enrolled as a student as of the Spring 2026 semester, you are not eligible to apply and your application will not be considered.
Additional Comments Minimum 15 hours/week; flexible work schedule available for specific days/times and number of hours per day depending on student's schedule. This is an in-office position.
