Duties Description Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG-25, within the ITS Dedicated Support Team for the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS). This position will be responsible for the implementation, support and maintenance of customized and commercial off-the-shelf business applications for DOCCS. The team manages critical applications 24x7.
- Participate on a technical team within the ITS Dedicated team for DOCCS.
- Coordinate and participate in system installations, patching and upgrades.
- Collaborate with software providers, architects, and business analysts on the implementation of systems to meet business requirements, system performance, scalability and other critical quality measures.
- Work closely with Data Center Hosting, Database Administration, Network and the Chief Technology Office staff to support the installation of new systems and maintenance of existing systems.
- Provide business hour and off-hour technical support and maintenance for critical systems.
- Monitor system performance of commercial applications.
- Participate in security vulnerability scanning and remediation.
- Troubleshoot application network and performance issues.
- Assist with Microsoft Server operating system application configuration and tuning.
- Interface with Active Directory with new applications, requesting new accounts and aid with group membership / security.
- Configure and support web / application servers which include the support of Internet Information Services(IIS), vendor-specific and related technologies.
- Assist in supporting system migration and testing for data center consolidation projects.
Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive services as an Information Technology Specialist 3 OR in a position at G-21 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.

If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
