Duties Description Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources Management, the Director of Training leads a team of professional and support staff responsible for the administration and implementation of organizational and workforce development initiatives, programs and services for the Office of General Services and its hosted agency partners. The position incumbent serves as the primary administrator for the State wide Learning Management System ensuring that various professional development modalities, including classroom training, videoconferences and online course offerings are tracked within SLMS.

On an ongoing basis, the incumbent will review the organizational and workforce development needs of each agency and develop annual plans for addressing those needs. The incumbent will conduct and supervise a variety of specialized professional development programs, develop complex curricula, and ensure that agency managers, supervisors and employees participate in mandatory development programs, according to criteria established by the executive staff of each agency. The incumbent assists the Director in recommending new organizational and workforce development initiatives to agency executive staff, prepares grant requests to support their development and delivery, works with vendors as may be required on curriculum development and implementation, and conducts comprehensive program evaluations to demonstrate knowledge transfer and on-the-job application of the knowledge and skill learned. The incumbent will work closely with the OGS Lean Management Office staff to develop a comprehensive Lean professional development program for all agency staff as part of the agency’s overall effort to support Lean deployment.
