Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as a Manager Information Technology Services 1, G-27 or in a position at the G-25/M-1 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades or one M-grade.
Preferred Qualifications
• Applications development experience.
• Proven leadership abilities including managing remotely-located staff.
• Strong communication skills and experience interfacing with end users within an agency.
• Experience with technologies such as video conferencing, web meetings, and teleconferences.

Duties Description Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Information Technology Services, the Manager Information Technology Services 1 will manage the regional applications for the Western region of the Disabilities & Aging Cluster. The incumbent will be responsible for supervision, direction, project management, implementation, and technical leadership of the Disabilities & Aging Cluster’s Western regional offices.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Manage development of systems for use in field operations, coordinating with peers in other regions.
• Travel to all Western New York regional offices supported by the Disabilities & Aging Cluster to work with staff responsible for applications development in the western region.
• Provide direction and managerial support to 20+ staff located across Western New York in five regional offices.
• Develop and maintain formal project schedules.
• Provide oversight of ITS activities at cluster agencies.
• Coordinate with managers across the cluster in establishing and enforcing best practices, policies and procedures.
• Direct and participate in the selection and ongoing development of staff to ensure they are offered opportunities for learning, training, growth and challenging work.
