Minimum Qualifications Open to New York State employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming), G-18; OR who are in a position at G-16 or higher and deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two grades.

Duties Description This position is within the Finance/Regulation/Gaming Cluster in the Quality Assurance Bureau, Quality Assurance Section, and Testing Unit.

Under the supervision of a higher level IT Specialist, the duties of the incumbent are:

• Drop Personal Income Tax, Sales Tax and Corporation Tax files to process server and monitor the statistical output; Perform analysis to determine the number of returns/payments that posted, created an exception or rejected.

• Provide testing technical support by modifying and executing Job Control Language (JCL), SPUFI and SQL; Assist other test areas in resolution of JCL abends and determine course of action to resolve.

• Create test data by replication, or data transport from either a production or development environment.

• Create a text file to be executed through a script to create acknowledgment and reject files for our E-Pay System.

• Execute maintenance scripts for bill text cleanup and changing UTM Mainframe Test Logons passwords.

• Document and perform web vulnerability scans against all web applications and routinely handle any additional scanning required for new applications as well as re-scans of existing applications due to changes.

• Administer, maintain, and train users on ClearQuest defect tracking; Create reports based on user requirements.

• Monitor and assign Test ID’s utilizing the Business ID Checkout and SSN Checkout tools.

• Create and maintain written procedures.
