Duties Description The general responsibilities associated with this position encompass: supervising staff; conducting research and producing reports within enrollment and eligibility systems; engaging with Medicaid Managed Care health plans, external contractors, health care providers, other Divisions within the Department, and additional state agencies; offering technical support regarding program policies, rules, and regulations; executing outreach activities; and drafting and reviewing letters, memoranda, and other written documents. Furthermore, the incumbent may also take part in various workgroups connected to Medicaid Managed Care and aid in fulfilling other Bureau-related responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 2, G-25 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive
service in a title at or above G-23 and deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with NYS Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) as well as Medicaid enrollment, eligibility, and reporting systems. Experience in overseeing various projects concurrently; reviewing complex materials/documents; and offering technical support to external and internal organizations.
