Duties Description Within the Civil Recoveries Bureau, is the newly established Judgment Enforcement Team (JET). JET was established to handle large-dollar, complex, and high-profile judgment enforcement on behalf of all bureaus of the OAG. JET will employ expertise in CPLR Article 52 judgment enforcement methods, Debtor & Creditor Law issues, and fraudulent conveyance claims. It will also investigate and uncover hidden assets and initiate, or advise on, ancillary post-judgment litigation necessary to seize or disgorge monies held by judgment debtors, or their collaborators. Duties of the Principal Accountant include but are not limited to:

• Review and analyze financial information relating to investigations and litigation, with the end of uncovering hidden assets, fraudulent or preferential transfers, attempts by judgment debtors to avoid creditors, and determining the financial condition of judgment debtors.
• Advise and assist attorneys and other staff in investigations and legal proceedings brought by this office.
• Prepare memoranda, affidavits, spreadsheets, summaries, and other materials in support of office’s judgment enforcement efforts.
• Provide testimony or assist with court presentations at hearings or legal proceedings.
• Assist in development of training material on accounting issues relevant to investigation and enforcement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Reachable on the Department of Civil Service Eligible list for Principal Accountant.
OR
Eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law by having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title. To determine if your current Civil Service title is eligible for transfer to this title, visit the Career Mobility GOT-IT website.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Judgment enforcement experience.
