Duties Description PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in eMedNY Enrollment Tracking, FACTS case creation, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Must have strong organizational, proofreading, verbal and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, demonstrate attention to detail, and the ability to maintain professionalism in a fluid, busy environment.
This position will support the functions of the Enrollment and Reinstatement Unit within
the Division of Medicaid Investigations (DMI). Job duties include, but are not limited to:
• Intake of Medicaid Enrollment Applications from the Department of Health in eMedNY Enrollment Tracking.
• Creation of enrollment cases in the DMI FACTS system.
• Prepare case files by performing searches of various databases, including Accurint and DMV Compass, and upload reports to case files.
• Assign cases for review and monitor EAR staff caseloads to ensure regulatory requirements are being met.
• Knowledge of Medicaid enrollment criteria
• Prepare, draft and send unit correspondence via mail and email.
• Monitor unit mailbox and phone line.
• Intake and track provider appeals.
• Schedule unit meetings.
• Compile and distribute appeals packets to OMIG and DOH staff.
• Attend monthly appeal meetings and keep meeting minutes.
• Update DMI FACTS system as needed.
• Report Unit denials to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
• Work collaboratively with unit staff and management.
• Communicate professionally with other agencies and units within OMIG.
• Perform other tasks to support the division as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
Reachable on the eligible list for Program Aide, or current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Program Aide, OR New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
