Duties Description Assists higher level staff in performing routine and unskilled work such as carrying supplies and equipment; erecting ladders and scaffolding; cleaning, flushing and repairing gutters and drains; removing materials from construction sites; preparing surfaces and spreading paint; digging ditches; loading and unloading trucks; carrying bricks and mortar; performing rough carpentry and masonry work; and cleaning the work site after repair work is completed.
Operates self-propelled and motorized equipment such as lawn mowers, pumps, compressors, vehicles, small trucks, light construction equipment, electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
Minimum Qualifications There is no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. Incumbents must possess a valid New York State drivers license.
Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.
Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
