Minimum Qualifications To be considered, candidates must have:

1. An appropriate professional degree, and New York State licensure/certification where applicable,*

AND

2. Seven (7) years of responsible administrative management or supervisory experience providing service to people diagnosed with mental illness, including at least one year in an administrative/management position comparable to an executive staff level position in a psychiatric center, research institute, or developmental center. **

*Physician applicants who possess a N.Y.S. limited permit and who are licensed in another state or possess a Canadian license issued on the basis of a written examination may be considered for appointment while applying for New York State licensure. Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining a current New York State limited permit or obtaining full N.Y.S. licensure.

**Physicians may substitute two (2) years of experience at the Chief of Service level for the one (1) year of executive level experience. Certification in Psychiatry issued by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or clearly equivalent certifying body is preferred for physician applicants.

Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.

Duties Description The Executive Director serves as the Chief Executive Officer of CNYPC. Through general supervision and close collaboration with the facility cabinet, the incumbent is responsible for all clinical and non-clinical programs and activities of the psychiatric center, satellite and mental health units and Sex Offender Treatment Program. In concert with and working through the cabinet, the Executive Director is responsible for providing administrative leadership and direction of all operations, programs, and policies. The Executive Director reports directly to and works closely with Central Office State Operations and with area local government units to ensure continuity of care and effective delivery of services.

(For Psychiatrist Candidates Only): $200,588 – $233,438

CNYPC is a state-operated, Joint Commission accredited facility that provides a full range of care and treatment to persons incarcerated in the New York State and county correctional system. It consists of a 206 bed maximum security inpatient forensic hospital located in Marcy, New York, as well as corrections-based services, consisting of a network of satellite and mental health units located in designated NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) facilities throughout New York State. In addition to its inpatient forensic and corrections-based programs, CNYPC operates a 280 bed state of the art Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP).
