Duties Description The incumbent will work within the Hazardous Waste Operating Permits Section of the Bureau of Hazardous Waste and Radiation Management.
Specific duties may include:
1.Providing support to permitting staff with projects associated with Part 373 permits, closure/post-closure, corrective action, and financial assurance.
2.Assisting staff in conducting data entry, data analysis, and developing permit templates.
3.Helping permitting staff with tasks associated with site management plans and compliance schedule and schedule of deliverable items.
4.Aiding permitting staff with creating spreadsheets for items such as preliminary administrative decisions regarding CLCPA and CRRA, permit modifications, and financial assurance.
Minimum Qualifications Four years of experience in technician work in aeronautical, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, or sanitary engineering technology; environmental technology; geology or geology technology; or as a surveyor or a drafter;
OR
graduation from high school and one year of qualifying experience;
OR
graduation from a high school technical education program in aeronautics, architectural drafting, chemistry, electricity, electronics, mechanical design and construction, technical structural drafting and design, technical instrumentation and control systems, or computer circuitry;
OR
18 college semester credit hours in any combination of the following: engineering, geology, environmental science, natural or physical science, drafting, mathematics, or surveying.
Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Travel may be required.
Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.
