Duties Description The Program Aide in the Region 2 Administrative Services office will perform duties consistent with the standard for this title. As such, the selected candidate will perform a variety of paraprofessional duties to support the work performed in the Administration office, exercising a considerable amount of independent judgment in the interpretation and application of various policies, procedures, laws, rules, regulations and department guidelines.

The Program Aide will be responsible for Worker’s Comp case management, utilizing the ARS and Origami systems, and managing the Alternate Duty Program. The Program Aide may also assist with other office functions, including but not limited to: filing, general phone inquiries, regional mail room, attendance and leave. Full duties will be discussed at the time of appointment.

Excellent written and oral communication skills expected in providing customer service to employees, job seekers, and management staff as well as proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

The salary range listed reflects the full range for this graded position. For new State employees appointed into graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
