Duties Description The Health Programs Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, and coordination of initiatives aligned with SUNY Office of Health and Hospital Affairs and statewide priorities. The position focuses on operationalizing projects through program implementation, data tracking, and stakeholder coordination. The Health Programs Coordinator works collaboratively with internal and external partners to advance health outcomes and strengthen the healthcare workforce.
The ideal candidate will possess strong program implementation, project coordination, and communication skills, and will work closely with content area experts to support analysis, assessment, and evaluation of health initiatives. This role will contribute to translating subject matter expertise and data into actionable program insights to support the office's strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support campus-based grant programs and projects from planning through implementation, working closely with subject matter experts, campus partners, and data analysts to ensure programs are executed effectively and evaluation needs are met.
- Track and manage program submissions, deadlines, and progress, ensuring activities align with program goals and priorities.
- Support financial and administrative processes, including program documentation, policy summaries, and drafting grant-related materials as needed.
- Collect, organize, and verify program data, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Monitor campus program activities and milestones, providing updates and feedback to subject matter experts and program leadership.
- Collaborate with content experts and internal teams to identify opportunities for improvement and support continuous program enhancement.
- Maintain records and support communication among stakeholders.
Key Projects Include:
- New Community College investments in high demand healthcare fields.
- High Needs Nursing Program: Campus Simulation Support and Innovation & Partnerships.
- SUNY Healthcare Educator Scholarship program.
- Continuing Annual Community College campus investments in health care workforce and mental health.
Other program coordination assistance related to annual State Operated campus investments in mental health, the SUNY/OMH mental health internship program, SUNY mental health first aid grants, and the Medicaid collaborative grant as capacity allows.
Minimum Qualifications Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in public health, health administration, public policy, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data tracking tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in public health, health administration, public policy, or a related field.
- One to two years of experience supporting health programs, workforce initiatives, or program implementation.
- Experience with data analysis, program evaluation, or reporting in a higher education or public sector setting.
- Familiarity with healthcare workforce or population health initiatives.
Additional Comments Additional Information:
- Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $63,000-$72,000 annually.
- State Title: Assistant to Director 13 (Grade MP5) and is a Management Confidential position.
- This position requires collaboration across SUNY campuses, state agencies, and external partners. Occasional travel may be required.
