Duties Description Assist the Division of Health Plan Contract Oversight, Bureau of Consumer Services(BCS) in a broad range of planning, implementation, investigation, reporting and oversight activities. The incumbent will manage the Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) complaint process ensuring compliance with health program requirements, appropriate provider reimbursement, compliance with applicable financial and managed care statutes, evaluation and analysis of the impact of audit and surveillance programs, consumer access to quality care, and protection for consumer and provider appeal/due process rights. The Deputy Director is needed to fulfill day to day responsibilities including timely response to high profile cases, act as liaison with other units and offices in the Department of Health and State Agencies, conducting stakeholder workgroups, data analysis and reporting, procurement and manage contractor performance and monitoring implementation of program initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS Department of Health employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service as a Health Program Administrator 3, SG-27, and eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law OR Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service in a title SG-25 or higher and eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge and experience with NYS Medicaid Program, Health Insurance, Managed Care including Federal and State healthcare rules and regulations. Strong supervisory experience.
Additional Comments This position may require travel throughout New York State including overnights to areas not served by public transportation.
