Duties Description This position will manage multiple high-profile special projects for the Statewide Central Register (SCR) and supervise the HEARS Family Support Line Unit and the Multi-Disciplinary Team/Child Advocacy Center Unit (MDT/CAC). These workloads directly impact on the health and safety of NYS’s vulnerable children and families.
The position will lead the planning and implementation of SCR initiatives such as the On-Line Mandated Reporting portal, exploration of an automated intake decision-making tool, research into an intake screening pathway, and participation in an Intake Learning Exchange with other state hotlines. Additionally, this position will directly supervise the staff and operations of the HEARS Family Support Line that provides connection to supports and resources for people in need. This position will also directly supervise the MDT/CAC Unit staff, including programmatic oversight and fiscal management of statewide MDT/CAC contracts. MDT/CACs are critical to conducting child abuse investigations and providing safety, justice, and healing services for sexually and physically abused children. This position carries a great amount of responsibility and will report directly to the CWCS Associate Commissioner of the Office of Vulnerable Children and Adults, Operations and Protective Services. This position requires after-hours availability.

Duties to include but not limited to;

• Work closely with the Associate Commissioner and SCR Director on legislative analysis, State of the State proposals, and policy development
• Provide project management and leadership for special projects
• Provide day to day management and oversight for HEARS Family Support Line Unit which is now open daily until 8pm
• Provide day to day management and oversight for the MDT/CAC Unit
• Develop proposals where applicable to comply with agency mission
Consider and develop recommendations designed to address complex issues
• Interface with the user community and stakeholders to understand needs and pain points with the system.
• Develop strategies to address concerns and improve the user experience
• Develop project plans, schedules, deliverables and risk mitigation plans for all special projects
• Analyze and communicate project needs, timelines and status regularly to the Associate Commissioner
• Coordinate deliverables between multiple internal and external groups
Communicate regularly with stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 52.6 transfer.

This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.

Additional Comments Background Investigation Requirements:

3) For Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
