Duties Description • Assist in researching inquiries from employees, Administration staff, and control agencies.
• Responsible for auditing wage and deduction information and processing of related transactions in the appropriate computer system(s) i.e data entry of special payments, direct deposits, withholding tax forms etc.
o Process lump sums into HRIS/PayServ
• Daily audit of direct deposit and tax withholding entries made the previous day
• Run and review PayServ queries and Control D Reports – Take appropriate action
• Biweekly and monthly reporting for Payroll to provide executive management
• Perform reconciliations for internal systems (HRIS)
• Monitor and respond to inquiries received in both personal and shared email boxes
• Update or change information in the human resource and /or payroll systems as necessary
• Transaction database maintenance (301/302 lotus notes)
• Effectively communicate via telephone, in person, e-mail, fax and written correspondence
• Process retirement applications in the NYS Retirement Online System
• Process Statement of Accruals forms to NYS Retirement System for separated employees
• Verification of Employment (VOE) requests, PSLFs, unemployment Insurance, NF6, etc.
• Assist in the Personal History File Room as needed
• Miscellaneous duties as directed by management
• Comply with Agency's time and attendance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications The ability to fill this/these position(s) is subject to DOB guidelines for processing personnel transactions. Note: A budget waiver is not required to fill positions via transfer to lateral or downward level positions within the same Department to change line items within the same funding source; or to replace employees who have been terminated during their probationary periods. The selected candidate must be eligible for appointment in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Service Law, Rules, and Regulations.
If mandatory rehiring lists exist for this title, appointment other than reassignment must be made from these lists. If there are no acceptors from these lists, appointment may be made using the followng:

a) Employees who are currently serving in the same title are eligible for reassignment without change in title or status;
b) Candidates reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title and location;
c) Employees eligible for transfer.
