Salary RangeFrom $86681 to $109650 Annually
Duties Description A Real Estate Specialist 2 will work under the direction of the Real Estate Officer 1 and will supervise one or more of the functional groups within the Office of Right of Way. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Providing oversight and direction to staff and consultants
Being responsible for completion and oversight of complex and unusual functional activities relating to the acquisition of real property, including determinations of property ownership interests, appraisals of real property rights, appraisal review, relocation, sensitive claimant and Court of Claims negotiations, property management activities, and capita/local project right-of-way activities
Having a working knowledge of Real Estate acquisition as it relates to NYS Eminent Domain Procedure Law, NYS Highway Law, and the Federal Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act as necessary.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and contribute to a positive and productive workplace. The duties of this position may require considerable travel and field work. At the time of appointment and continuously thereafter, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to meet the travel requirements of the position.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Additional Comments Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
The salary range listed reflects the full range for this graded position. For new State employees appointed into graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
