Duties Description The Licensed Radiologic Technologist will perform various diagnostic radiographic images; use radiation safety measure and protection device to ensure safety of patients and team members; operate radiologic equipment including portable machines for diagnostic purposes. The Licensed Radiologic Technologist will ensure radiologic equipment works properly and report any equipment malfunctions to the manager. The incumbent will follow precise procedure for exposure, positioning and safety of the patient; assure proper quality of images for each radiological procedure; position patient according to radiologist protocols. The Licensed Radiologic Technologist will also transport and operate portable x-ray equipment; properly identify patients using hospital protocols; maintains required CE'S as needed for licensure; operate all x-ray equipment, computers, phones and fax machines.

Minimum Qualifications Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Licensed Radiologic Technologist.

Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in a position allocated to Grade 12 or above, and that is eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law to Licensed Radiologic Technologist.

NYS HELPS Open Competitive: Possession of a license and current registration to practice radiologic technology in New York State.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate should have 1-2 years of experience; however, new graduates may be considered.

Additional Comments One permanent, competitive or non competitive via HELPS, full-time appointment.

The posted salary range ($73,506 - $85,630) includes statutory hiring rate for CSEA Grade 14, geographic pay differential of $13,000, and a downstate adjustment of $4,000.
