Duties Description Under the supervision of the Director of the Real Property Bureau, the selected candidate will serve as the Land Surveyor assistant. This position serves as a shared and knowledge based resource for the Land surveying unit.

Duties include but are not limited to:

•Encroachments
o Process Intakes of Regional Requests
o Track Regional Requests
o Initiate Site visits to investigate areas
o Use GPS to locate encroachments
o Use CAD to map the encroachments

•Scanning of real property maps and documents
o Retrieval of Regional Records
o Scan and upload to network drives
o Data base entry of records

•Railroads
o Transfer institutional knowledge regarding railroad acquisitions
o Research railroad records

•Physical Inspections
o Perform physical inspections on proposed land acquisitions

•Record management
o Database entry of real property maps and records

•Survey field work
o Perform field work for various survey related needs

•Research
o Research real property records at region, county or municipal offices
o Internal research of parks records associated with proposed acquisition, encroachments, marking of boundary lines, confirmation of park boundary

•Grants Bureau research
o Review deeds and maps as needed for complex grant applications

Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance, construction, landscaping, business operations, park operations, or in an organized recreation program.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
