Duties Description This position manages and coordinates campus janitorial and moving crew operations to ensure facilities are maintained according to established standards and that adequate staffing supports campus operations. Responsibilities include communicating custodial procedures, coordinating equipment purchases, overseeing inventory and supply distribution, and assisting with preparation of a portion of the annual custodial budget. The position also plans and schedules support for major campus events such as summer clean-up, commencement, and open houses. Supervisory duties include training staff, evaluating performance, approving timecards and leave, ensuring employees understand workplace expectations and emergency procedures, and addressing personnel matters through coaching, counseling, or disciplinary action when necessary.
Duties require the safe use of tools, equipment, and appropriate PPE, as well as participation in job-related training. Minimum Qualifications -Must be eligible for permanent appointment to this title pursuant to civil service law.

Promotion:
-One year of experience as a Head Janitor OR two years of experience as a Supervising Janitor or Public Buildings Manager 1
