Duties Description Responsibilities:
Reporting to a Health Program Administrator, the incumbent of this position will work closely with Appeals Staff to ensure that individuals receive prompt resolution to their appeals. Such Duties shall include:
• Supervise Medicaid Eligibility Examiner 2’s
• Perform Quality Assurance Checks of folder prep to ensure accurate and complete folders for Hearing Officers
• Perform Level 3 Redaction Edits
• Assist in compliance complaints by checking for agency compliance with Fair Hearing Decisions.
• Assist in processing reconsideration requests.
• Assist in ensuring smooth appeal case transfers between NYSOH Appeals and OTDA.
• Draft correspondence notices to appellants and the agency along with conducting outreach to appropriate parties to inform them of status and next steps.
• Provide assistance and support to Health Program Administrator and Principal Hearing officers as needed
• Other Duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer: Current New York State Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Medicaid Eligibility Examiner 3, Grade 17.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidate will be able to manage multiple tasks at once. Candidate will need to have good communication skills and be able to communicate with different individuals including appellant. Candidate will have good writing skills.
