Minimum Qualifications Applicant must be an employee of New York State and have permanent or contingent permanent status as a Licensed Psychologist eligible for transfer, OR have permanent or contingent/permanent status as a Licensed Psychologist and eligible for a 70.1 transfer, OR if you meet the minimum qualifications noted below, you may submit a completed NYS-APP form to the HR Office for scoring.
Open Competitive: Current license to practice psychology issued by the New York State Dept of Education and currently registered to practice psychology in New York State.
Promotion: Current license to practice psychology issued by the New York State Dept of Education and currently registered to practice psychology in New York State AND one year of permanent competitive service as an Associate Psychologist or Psychologist 2.
Duties Description The appointee will be responsible for providing psychological services to developmentally disabled individuals who reside in our State Operated Residential Programs. Job duties will include:
•Functional assessment of skills and deficits; neuropsychological assessment of organic brain dysfunction; evaluation of learning disabilities; personality assessment, lethality assessment of effect of medical therapies on behaviors;
•Design and application of behavioral technology, including behavioral management and behavioral skills training; design and implementation of habilitative and psycho-educational programs; provision of psychological consultation to the interdisciplinary treatment team; evaluation of the efficacy of treatment.
•Supervision of psychological services performed by non-licensed staff and trainees;
•Provide inservice training for all levels of direct support staff
•Chair Metro's Human Rights Committee (HR); present cases to the ICC (Informed consent Committee)
•Liaison for Statewide Committee in coordinating requests for services and reviews related to Behavior initiatives and information collection, including Restrictive Interventions; behavior programs, provide updates regarding all State regulations and compliance mandates in psychology services, etc.
