Duties Description This internship opportunity would be located at the Albany Career Center and provide hands-on assistance to customers in the resource room, as well as workshop assistance. The candidate would also be relied on to provide information and technical assistance to customers needing to set up an NY.gov account, apply for Unemployment Insurance benefits, and navigate IDme. Candidates will learn and provide resume assistance, and assistance with utilization of NYSDOL's virtual services (VR, CDL Simulator, VCC). Candidates would also greet customers entering the center and ascertain type of services needed. As time allows candidates may also be tasked with supporting quality reviews. Candidates would gain knowledge on all of NYSDOL's programs and services, the importance of a skills-based resume, quality cover letter, where to find job leads, customer service, time management, data entry, and quality assurance skills. Candidates will also make meaningful connections with workforce partners and local businesses in their role.

Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Be a United States citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States

Be 18 years of age or older

Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State*

Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program

Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent
