Duties Description The Health Program Administrator 1 (HPA1) will serve as the Bureau of Vaccine Program's Outreach & Enrollment lead. Duties include outreach to potential Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Vaccines for Adults (VFA) providers to promote the programs, recruit and enroll; coordination with staff in other units on data and provider guidance/training; technical assistance to staff responding to providers via phone and email; supporting policies and activities around provider enrollment and outreach; and directing efforts to enhance and improve the electronic enrollment application. This position’s duties also include leading discussions at meetings with regional office staff about provider recruitment/outreach involving provider networks and engaging local health departments and marketing the VFC and VFA programs via oral and written communications to potential providers. Supervision of vaccine program staff.
Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1, G23 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G21 and deemed eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, G23 under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have program management experience and excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete multiple assignments. Public health experience, and experience working with county health officials and private health care providers. Experience in implementing policies and procedures to align with program goals and compliance requirements. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team. Public health experience, and experience working with county health officials and private health care providers. Knowledge of vaccines. Proficiency using Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, SharePoint and Teams.

This position may require travel throughout New York State including overnights to areas not served by public transportation.
