Duties Description The incumbent will provide confidential support to the Regional Director and Assistant Regional Director (RD/ARD). Incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the RD/ARD office which includes handling confidential information; coordinating information flow in the region by acting as the Commissioner's Correspondence Unit liaison and reviewing/editing/finalizing responses; scheduling internal and external meetings and maintaining RD/ARD’s calendars; handling travel arrangements/reimbursements including reconciling charges and submitting travel expense reports in SFS; coordinating office procedures and managing workflow; assisting RD/ARD with special projects as needed and routinely meeting with the RD/ARD to review status of ongoing projects and to align priorities; providing backup to the FOIL Officer and assisting in other areas as needed. The tasks performed in this position require current computer skills and excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC
or
Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.
or
Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 13 or higher and:
Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1: Permanent competitive service as an Administrative Assistant 2, Accountant Aide, Program Aide, Business Document Specialist 3, Head Mail & Supply Clerk, Head Stores Clerk, Legal Assistant 1 and Trainee 2, Office Assistant 3, Office Assistant 3 (Calculations), Office Assistant 3 (Human Resources), Payroll Examiner 2, Payroll Specialist 2, Principal Data Entry Machine Operator.
Also any language parenthetic for the above titles. Additional titles which qualify can be found on the Department of Civil Service website, search "GOT-IT."

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
