Duties Description Under the supervision of the Park Manager and the Office Manager, the incumbent will perform a range of office and customer service duties at Moreau Lake State Park. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Camper registration, radio dispatch, retail sales, answering phones, cleaning and organizing spaces.
• Administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, scheduling field trips and summer camps, performing internal audits, park inventory, permitting, bank deposits, and retail inventory.
• Assisting Office Manager with basic supervision of seasonal employees: issuing meal breaks, setting up change funds, and performing cash audits.
• Maintaining and promoting a safe working environment by applying appropriate safety practices.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum qualifications per Civil Service.
Additional Comments Preferred Qualifications:
• One year of office receptionist experience at a state park or equivalent.
• Experience with cash handling, reservation and Point of Sale systems.
• Positive, professional, and accurate customer service is required.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and read and comprehend written material.
Operational Needs:
• Must possess and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as with others.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff and park patrons in a responsible and courteous manner.
• Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
