Duties Description Pilgrim Psychiatric Center is recruiting a temporary teacher to provide classroom coverage and support to the educational instruction provided to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

As a Teacher, you will teach elementary, secondary, or special subjects including
• Preparing course and unit outlines, lesson plans, and individual education plans
• Evaluating and documenting individuals’ performance and progress
• Collaborating with treatment team to work toward treatment goals and objectives

Minimum Qualifications Teacher 2 – Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.

Teacher 3 – Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.

Teacher 4 - Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and 2 years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty.
