Duties Description Buffalo Harbor State Park is seeking a Park & Rec Aide to help maintain the beauty, health, and safety of the park. The incumbent will be responsible for the hands-on care of the grounds. Daily duties will include:
Mowing park grounds and precisely edging along walkways, fences, and borders.
Thoroughly weeding beds to ensure a clean, professional appearance.
Using hand tools and power equipment to trim overgrown areas and correctly prune trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth.
Transporting and spreading mulch in plant beds and around tree bases.
Diligently watering trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
Raking leaves and collecting debris.
Minimum Qualifications No minimum qualifications per Civil Service.

Additional Comments This position will begin immediately and continue through Columbus Day.
Hourly rate dependent on experience.
OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must be willing and able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must be able to perform medium to heavy physical labor and lift up to 50 pounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with horticulture/gardening or a degree in horticulture or related field.
