Duties Description This position will act as the Assistant Director for the Bureau of Accounts Management overseeing nine (9) different units representing various operational areas in DOH. Those units oversee agencywide operations for a specific function, monitoring transactions flow, providing guidance for areas not clearly delineated in current policies/rules/procedures, assisting program in resolving operational issues, serving as the liaison between program areas, partner agencies, vendors, ...
This position will assist the bureau director in managing a staff of over 30, overseeing the nine different functions that the bureau covers, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to advance the bureau's objectives, translating new laws/guidance into operational procedures for agency staff, taking the lead on major bureau initiatives working with section heads and other relevant stakeholders amongst other duties.
Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer:
Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service at SG-27 or M-2 or higher and eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: Good experience and familiarity with the following areas: revenue collection, system rights access management, purchasing, accounts payable, credit card program management, banking, cost allocation, federal reporting, travel management - Strong managerial skills and oversight ability - Multitasking - experience with working with federal agencies on single audits.
Additional Comments Change management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills constitute good additions to the skill set needed for this position.
