Duties Description Under the supervision of an Auditor 3, the Auditor 2 will conduct audits, special projects, and other contract audit services for NYSDOT. The incumbent will also oversee audit assignments performed by one or more consultant Certified Public Accountant firms and supervise one or more Auditor 1 employees. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Review and conduct close-out audits of contracts with engineering consultant firms, railroads, utility companies, and others, to determine if billed costs and fees are allowable;
• Review and perform pre-award evaluations of engineering firms’ indirect cost (overhead) rates;
• Ensure that sub-recipients of Federal funds have filed Federal and New York State Single Audits as required and have taken appropriate corrective actions on any reported audit findings;
• Assist in the review of Personal Net Worth of business owners who have applied to NYSDOT for certification as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise;
• Occasional travel will be required.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

The salary range listed reflects the full range for this graded position. For new State employees appointed into graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
