Duties Description Under the supervision of the NYS Park Police Zone Commander, the Parks & Recreation Aide 7 duties include but are not limited to:
• Prepare confidential reports for the NYC Zone and forward to Albany Headquarters as required.
• Act as a travel proxy for all sworn and civilian staff within the NYC Zone. Review, audit, and verify travel expense reports for compliance with New York State and OPRHP travel policies. Track outstanding reports and unreconciled travel card charges.
• Research items for purchase, including reviewing commodities/services available from Minority and Women’s Business Enterprise (MWBE), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses (SDVOB), and New York State Contract and Preferred Source Vendors. Request written quotes from Open Market Vendors for purchases made via credit card, requisition, and Direct Pay methods of payment.
• Review and reconcile credit card purchases in the Statewide Financial System (SFS), and Budget Expenditure Tracking System (BETS), to ensure coding and backup documentation is accurate.
• Enter all NYC Zone expenditures in the Budget Expenditure Tracking System.
• Provide Albany Headquarters with a monthly expenditure report using data from the Statewide Financial System and Budget Expenditure Tracking System.
• Invoice entries in the Motor Vehicle Database and Fleetwave.
• Label and file event and arrest files.
Minimum Qualifications NO MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS TITLE PER CIVIL SERVICE.
Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Applicants must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
• Applicants must be willing to support operational needs and special projects throughout the NYC Region as needed.
• There is no telecommuting with this position.
• The selected candidate for this vacancy will be subject to a background check conducted by the NYS Park Police.
