Duties Description The duties for the Facility Operations Assistant 1 are as follows:

- Maintain the cleanliness of all patient living areas; all wards, including common areas such as the day room, to ensure joint commission standards are maintained

- Move heavy furniture

- Trash removal, picking up infectious waste, cleaning of bodily fluids

- Handling soiled linen and clean linen laundry

- Operate self-propelled and motorized equipment, such as burnishers, walk behind floor scrubbers, lawn mowers, pumps, compressors, vehicles, small trucks, and light construction equipment.

- Clean debris, garbage and hazards for the entirety of the outside campus

- Assist in snow removal in concert with the Work Control Department to include all ground walkways and sidewalks.

- Assist with setting up for grounds special events to include setting up outdoor tents, job fair signage and tables, and blood drives.

Minimum Qualifications Candidate must be physically able to perform the duties of the position and must be able to communicate effectively to obtain and convey information. When required to operate a motor vehicle, applicants must possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
