Salary RangeFrom $131256 to $159784 Annually
Duties Description Under the direction of an Assistant Directory of Information Technology 2, M5, within the Public Cloud Bureau, the Project Assistant will support AWS systems, providing governance, product development, platform management processes and architectural guidance Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Gather requirements for business processes from all stakeholders to develop policies and standards that shape the implementation of workflows to automate the assignment of tasks to responsible parties and automation tools
•Develop public cloud-based products the CTO organization can deliver to clients; document and advertise how these new offerings provide enhancements over other available products from other vendors or on-prem solutions
•Establish and update governance policies within AWS Cloud to ensure proper guiderails are in place from inception of project deployment, enforced during full life cycle and can be easily audited for compliance.
•Perform Landing Zone configuration of Identity and Access Management policies and Security troubleshooting through event log examination and system analysis
•Contribute toward building and updating standard deployment templates and runbooks. Collaborates with DevOps and SecOps teams to ensure efficient access and development while maintaining highest levels of security enforcement
•Participate in Federal and State security audits, working with auditors to review security settings on in scope systems and remediating systems if needed
•Work within ITSM\Service Now to monitor incoming incidents, requests, and change tasks. Submits requests and changes to track work that employee needs to perform or needs to have done for them by other teams. Documents remediation steps in incidents for knowledge enhancement.
•Participate in Project work, coordinating tasks across staff and completing project associated work within established timelines; communicates effectively with project staff.
•Adhere to all New York State laws, ITS policies, and agency information bulletins, and must participate in available training/tutoring/mentoring opportunities regarding updates to policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications Eleven years of experience in IT, including five years’ experience in cloud and platform management.
The following degrees may substitute for the general experience as indicated:
-Associate degree may substitute for two years of experience,
-Bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of experience,
-Master’s degree in related field substitutes for an additional year of experience,
-Doctorate in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional two years of experience, beyond a Bachelor’s degree.
Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. It is the policy of ITS not to hire F1 or H1 visa holders for permanent employment or to sponsor non-immigrant aliens for temporary work authorization visas or for permanent residence.

If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
