Duties Description Duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring the overall functionality and services of the Feinberg Library second and third floor service desks through direct service and supervision of the student employees to maintain the customer service expectations of the library; training work study and temporary service student employees; and providing direct customer service to Feinberg Library patrons. This position will also be responsible for maintaining the Feinberg Library course reserve program; overseeing stack maintenance for General collection, periodicals, microforms, and government documents to meet quality and quantity standards; and managing the provision of study carrels. Minimum Qualifications -Must be eligible for permanent appointment to this title pursuant to civil service law
-A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with a variety of individuals

Promotion:
-One year of permanent service in a clerical or secretarial position allocated to Grade 6 or higher.

For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.

Minimum Qualifications for applicants not currently civil service eligible for the title (NY HELPS):
Either: graduated from high school or have earned a high school equivalency diploma; AND one year of full-time clerical experience in a library setting,
Or: thirty semester credit hours of college study including at least NINE semester credit hours of college study in any combination of the following areas:
-Library/Information Science
-Computer Applications
-Information Studies

Additional Comments This position will provide clerical support to the Library team working to achieve the SUNY Plattsburgh mission of student success. The Feinberg Library assists students, faculty, staff, and the community in their intellectual activities by providing resources and services in support of research, teaching, and learning.
