Duties Description The incumbent must be able to perform the following essential functions:
· Assist in answering and screening telephone calls and direct to proper staff; take phone messages that include all pertinent information to enable staff to be prepared when returning the call.
· Provide guidance to callers regarding procedures to request DTF information.
· Open and distribute incoming mail.
· Review incoming requests for completeness.
· Data enter cases/requests into Disclosure’s inventory databases.
· Use various DTF applications to gather information for responses to requests
· Perform office support duties as directed by supervisor such as photocopying, scanning, filing, and assisting with routine clerical functions.
· Assist supervisor, coworkers, and employees from other units with miscellaneous projects, as necessary.
· Follow Department rules and division procedures and policies including the Code of Conduct, ethics practices, security and confidentiality rules.
· Adhere to the Department’s time and attendance rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
