Duties Description Under the direction of an Assistant Director, incumbent will act in a team leading capacity and be responsible for leading and managing a specialized procurement team to oversee division-wide performance in a wide variety of contracts and contract related activities.
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the team to include planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling workload within team.
• Monitor the development cycle of high value, complex contracts, RFPs, IFBs, Sole/Single Source Procurements and other related financial documents.
• Perform administrative and fiscal management services of contracts to include racking and auditing of division awards and contracts.
• Participate and advise in strategic planning, policy-making meetings, and decision point processes that affect the procurement organization and statewide procurement as a whole.
• Maintain strong working relationships within the team and with other staff of the agency.
• Act as a liaison between contract user customers, vendors, and other procurement support groups
• Ensure the continuing development and implementation of modern procurement methods and documents.
• Train and supervise lower-level staff and/or paraprofessional staff as necessary in the planning and development of procurement methods and documents.
Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 25 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
