Duties Description The Real Estate Specialist 2 works in the New York City Region, Office of Right-of-Way under the direction of a Real Estate Officer. As a Real Estate Specialist 2, you would supervise Real Estate Specialist staff and coordinate the work flow of a functional unit. You would be responsible for a Regional program, and serve as the Region's expert for Appraisal Review, Consultant Contract Management, Property Acquisition, Uniform Act Relocation Assistance, Property Management, Federal Highway Beautification Act Oversight, Property Title Inquiries, and Filed Claims. You would also be responsible for performing the more complicated real estate transactions and providing oversight and direction to outside consultants.

Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Additional Comments Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations

The salary range listed reflects the full range for this graded position. For new State employees appointed into graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
