Minimum Qualifications Qualifications for transfer: current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent status in a title at SG-18 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. This position may also be filled as a two-year traineeship via appointment from the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list. Employees eligible to transfer to HPA Trainee 1, NS-13, or HPA Trainee 2, NS-14, may also be considered.
Duties Description Reporting to the Director of the Compliance Program Review Unit or other supervisor within the Bureau of Compliance, the incumbent performs duties relative to the assessment and monitoring of providers in meeting their statutory and regulatory compliance requirements. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Participate in the development of metrics for Compliance Program Reviews (CPRs) and subject identification; use metrics to identify candidates for CPRs; request appropriate information, monitor and follow up on receipt of deliverables prior to site visits; work with Compliance Analyst to assemble customized dossiers of pre-CPR materials and provide direction and focus to CPR teams prior to CPR site visits; work with Compliance Analyst to provide support for post-CPR activities and follow up, such as preparation of reports and maintenance of databases for use by CPR and Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) Unit staff and referral to other OMIG Divisions; work with the Compliance Analyst to manage and coordinate Bureau data bases; triage and directly respond to compliance issues received by phone and through the dedicated Compliance mailbox; provide appropriate compliance advice and guidance based on current Bureau standards; conduct compliance contact initiatives of provider compliance programs; conduct desk reviews and analysis of provider compliance programs; participate in on-site reviews as assigned.
Additional Comments Preferred Qualifications: excellent verbal/written communication skills and analytical skills; researching skills and knowledge of tools within NYS and public data bases; good record-keeping skills and close attention to detail on deliverable schedules; data mining, management, and analytical skills/experience; excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to recognize appropriate actions, make recommendations and/or decisions; ability to get along with others and experience working in a collaborative environment; approach - firm but fair, with a willingness to listen to providers, their representatives, other agencies, and OMIG staff and make independent and objective recommendations in furtherance of the responsibilities indicated in this posting.
