Duties Description In this hands-on position, you will perform a range of skilled and semi-skilled work across multiple trades. Responsibilities may include:
-Repairing, maintaining, and improving campus facilities and equipment
-Performing construction, installation, and renovation projects as assigned
-Supporting colleagues in other trades and departments when needed
-Operating tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively
-Following established procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
-Using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks
-Participating in job-related training and professional development opportunities
Minimum Qualifications We welcome applicants with experience in one or more skilled trades who are committed to quality work, safety, and collaboration.
Applicants must have:
-Four years of full-time experience in a skilled trade under the supervision of a tradesperson, providing training equivalent to an apprenticeship or formal training program; or
-An equivalent combination of work experience and technical training completed through a trade school, technical institute, military service, or similar program.
-When required to operate motor vehicles, a valid driver’s license and the ability to be LENS cleared to operate state vehicles
In addition, candidates must demonstrate:
-The ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
-The physical capability to perform the duties of the position
-Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues from a variety of backgrounds
Additional Comments Join our Maintenance Trades team and play an important role in keeping our campus facilities safe, functional, and well maintained. As a Trades Generalist, you will perform a variety of repair, maintenance, construction, and installation tasks that support the daily operations of the university.
The Maintenance Trades department is part of the Administration & Finance Division, which provides essential services to campus constituents as well as local, state, federal, and international partners.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
