Duties Description This position perform a variety of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of campus buildings, facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
-Performing cleaning and custodial services in campus buildings and facilities
-Routine maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment
-Operating vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform assigned duties, safely and effectively
-Supporting campus events through the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment
-Office and facility support functions
-Assisting with snow and ice removal and other seasonal operations
-Following established procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
-Using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks
-Participating in job-related training and professional development opportunities
Minimum Qualifications When required to operate motor vehicles, employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to be LENS cleared to operate state vehicles.
In addition, candidates must demonstrate:
-The ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
-The physical capability to perform the duties of the position
-Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues from a variety of backgrounds

Additional Comments Join the Janitorial team within our Facilities, Maintenance & Operations department to provide assistance to various crews, including janitorial, grounds, moving crew, and maintenance and operations. As a Facility Operations Assistant 1, you will perform a variety of tasks to help keep our campus facilities safe, functional, and well maintained.
The Janitorial department is part of the Administration & Finance Division, which provides essential services to campus constituents as well as local, state, federal, and international partners.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:00pm to 1:30am.
