Duties Description As a Supervising Labor Services Representative within the Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board, the incumbent will perform the following duties, but not limited to:

Analyze and review statistical data from computer generated reports, or agency records.
Resolve specific complaints from claimants, job seekers and businesses regarding services or programs.
Research and prepare replies in response to customer, business, or official government inquiries and/or complaints.
May be assigned to region or department-wide projects or other initiatives.
May perform intake activities as required by workflow demands.
Administrative supervision of hearing and appeal staff.
Ensure timely completion of PEP and evaluations for all staff.
Provide training to new and existing staff.
Ensure hearing calendars and appeal tasks are completed timely and according to weekly instruction provided by the judicial management.

Additional duties include:

Minimum Qualifications If Civil Service Eligible list(s) exists, they will be canvassed.

Subsequent 55 B/C Qualifications: A subsequent 55-b/c appointment may be considered if you have one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a grade 18 or above, determined to be similar by civil service and have a current Civil Service 55-b/c approval letter.

Reassignment Qualifications: (DOL Employees ONLY) Current Department of Labor employees with at least one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55-b/c service in a Supervising Labor Services Representative title; if you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current Supervising Labor Services Representative eligible list for this location, if one exists.

70.1 Transfer Qualifications: One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55-b/c service in the following titles may qualify for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law:

• Employment Counselor – Grade 18
• Employment Counselor Spanish Language – Grade 18
• Employment Services Representative – Grade 18
• Investigative Officer 2 Unemployment Insurance – Grade 20
• Senior Administrative Analyst – Grade 18
• Senior Unemployment Insurance Hearing Representative – Grade 20
• Senior Unemployment Insurance Reviewing Examiner – Grade 20
• Unemployment Insurance Accounts Support Supervisor 1 – Grade 20
• Workforce Programs Specialist 1 – Grade 18

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders. Customer service experience, Microsoft applications, clerical and supervisory experience.

Additional Comments Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or out-stationed assignments.
