Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must currently be an Information Technology Specialist 2 OR be eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
52.6 Transfer:
Candidates must have one year of permanent, competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to salary grade 16 or higher.
Duties Description - Technical activities related to Unclaimed Funds Processing System support.
- Support and maintain Unclaimed Funds Processing System (UFPS), existing applications, queries, and databases (e.g. NYCD, OSC Agency Outreach database, Pubaccs).
- Utilize queries, utilities, and maintenance tools to identify, analyze, and solve production issues with UFPS and/or subsystems used by OUF staff.
- Serve as main business unit administrator for the OUF Correspondence generation system.
- Update and maintain OUF’s business continuity plan accounting for appropriate technical resources (e.g. AS400 backups).
- Develop OUF’s data classification plan.
- Implement/monitor EISO procedures and protocols and participate in system security audits.
- Serve as OUF SFS liaison (user access rights and batch interactions with UFPS).
- Provide business analysis support for the Unclaimed Funds Processing System (UFPS).
- Document “as is” unit procedures, system enhancements, and programs used to extricate data from UFPS.
- Conduct and participate in knowledge transfer “projects” with unit staff.
- Elicit requirements from subject matter experts to recommend proposed solutions for business needs.
- Coordinate analysis, design, testing, and training required for proposed changes to UFPS and making recommendations to management for implementation or alternative actions.
- Participate in analysis, design, testing, implementing, and supporting UFPS replacements and upgrades.
- Participate in system security audits, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery tasks.
- Update and maintain OUF’s disaster recovery plan.
Additional Comments - Technology: Preferred: demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access; as well as database design and relationships. Preferred: ability to use Microsoft Project proficiently; demonstrated ability to know and apply appropriate technology to relevant business processes.
Preferred: ability to program in Visual Basic.
- Business Analysis: demonstrated experience in requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, and training.
- Communication Skills: ability to apply active listening skills such as silence and paraphrasing; adept at hearing, interpreting and applying verbally transmitted information; adept at interpreting non-verbal communication.

- Ability to program in Visual Basic.
