Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must currently be serving in a Information Technology Specialist 2 title OR be eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
52.6 Transfer:
Candidates must have one year of permanent, competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to salary grade 16 or higher.
Duties Description - Assist in activities involving vulnerability testing with the security products. This includes running scans, writing reports, communicating results to developers and management.
- Assist in activities involving ISM antivirus software. This includes monitoring, scan results, producing reports, and communicating results to management.
- Install and maintain security software including upgrades and patches.
- Function as the backup administrator of all SSL certificates for the agency’s web servers.
- Run scheduled and adhoc scans of devices in the OSC network.
- Prepare and interpret reports from security software for management and technical staff.
- Assist in the support and maintenance of the agency’s Internet Filtering Application/Appliance.
- Assist in the preparation of Information Security Management’s responses to internal and external Audits.
- Prepare technical documentation using rules, standards, and formats.
- Monitor OSC service requests systems.
- Provide security software support to customers.
- Following established security procedures and guidelines.
- Willingness to be cross-trained within the ISM team to cover staff absences and back-up administration.
- Be available for off hours as directed.
Additional Comments DESIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills; must be able to work and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical coworkers.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- One to three years’ experience in computer applications support, preferably in a networked environment.
- One to three years’ administrating a networked based security management software
- Computer related Associate’s degree
- Knowledge of Scripting languages:
o PHP
o HTML
o JAVA
