Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree AND three years of experience in a public or private organization in the area of policy development, provision of technical assistance, development or implementation of educational or human services programs and/or development of implementation of grants and procurements.
Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s Office of P-12 Education is seeking candidates to fill a temporary Project Assistant position in the Office of Early Learning. The Office is responsible for a wide range of educational programs and works closely with parents, early care and education agencies, schools and state agencies to coordinate programs and resources with the goal of making New York’s early learning system as comprehensive and seamless as possible. Under the general direction of the Project Coordinator, the incumbent will assist with implementation of initiatives under the federal Prekindergarten Expansion Grant. Other duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Revise and post online applications through the Monitoring and Vendor Performance System (MVPS);
• Download, review and accept applications through MVPS;
• Track Office of Children and Family Services licensing information to ensure compliance;
• Aggregate data from completed quality assurance protocols and review for trends and anomalies;
• Revise and post online annual reports and compile and analyze program data;
• Revise and post reports through MVPS, including consolidated reports combined with Statewide Universal Full-Day Prekindergarten and Priority Prekindergarten programs;
• Track report submissions and ensure compliance with reporting schedule;
• Analyze final reports via COGNOS reporting application including review of site location data and aggregate data related to assessment tools used and measurement of student progress,
• Review data relative to students with disabilities, English Language Learners, homeless students, and student expulsion and suspension;
• Compile program data when requested by Legislature, advocates, school districts, etc.;
• Update program contract lists on a continued basis; and
• Assist with annual report for the Legislature.
Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a temporary appointment. Filling of this position is contingent upon Division of Budget approval.
* Leads to a maximum salary of $81,415 based on annual performance advances.
