Duties Description OPWDD Talent Development and Training (TD&T) has oversight of thirteen local training offices across the state,
which includes supporting the statewide training of our workforce. The unit provides staff with the necessary training and development activities needed to perform their jobs with the highest level of effectiveness and efficiency. The responsibilities of this position include:
• Work with agency supervisors and managers in areas of performance management, supervisory and leadership development, mentoring, and professional development planning;
• Working knowledge of the Statewide Learning Management System (SLMS) and data management methodologies, which includes the oversight in developing, planning and distributing training reports using data from various environments.
• Ability to analyze and summarize data to highlight trends and potential concerns;
• Oversight of the implementation of the Statewide Learning Management System, which includes agency administrators and monitoring data integrity;
• Liaison to agency managers to identify learning needs and assist with the development of customized instructor curricula and participant materials;
• Research various resources to find information, materials and technologies to help in the design and development of training programs;
• Approve specific programs and courses prepared by training staff to meet established training objectives;
• Assess training and development needs by observing agency staff and discussing agency programs with OPWDD Division Managers;
• Oversight of creating online training using e-learning authoring software;
• Supervise the preparation and dissemination of training announcements;
• Develop and review employees’ performance evaluation and program evaluation reports;
• Lead, manage, and coach staff to provide clear performance expectations by providing feedback to achieve training goals;
• Occasional presentation of training courses dealing with complex and specialized material;
• Occasional travel may be required.
