Duties Description There are a number of positions at the Department of Taxation and Finance in various bureaus in the Office of Processing and Revenue Management. Duties include but are not limited to:

- Plan, organize and adjust staff work assignments to avoid backlogs meet deadlines, and monitor daily reports. Also, evaluate and monitor staff productivity, work performance and time and attendance using existing quality assurance procedures.

- Review and give guidance to staff regarding the more technical, complex issues associated with the workload of the unit.

- Analyze and recommend process improvements for the unit.

- Review and disseminate changes in Department, Division or Bureau policy or procedures to subordinate staff.

- Identify training needs and may personally develop and conduct formal classroom or on-the-job training for staff.

- Effectively (accurately, clearly, concisely and timely) communicate verbally and in writing with taxpayers, taxpayers' representatives, division managers, all levels of subordinate and other Department staff.

- Display a calm, courteous and reasonable manner when dealing with irate customers.

- Manage all aspects of the assigned section, including, but not limited to; inventory, process, productivity, and staff.

- Review, analyze, and interpret legislation and other documentation.

- Write performance evaluations, and assist in counseling and disciplinary actions as necessary.

- Evaluate and monitor operations; establish priorities to ensure that the program operates at optimum capacity; develop quality control methods and procedures.

- Analyze data and develop written reports for management using information gathered from various departmental systems and databases.

- Collaborate effectively with counterparts and organizations within and outside of the Department.
