Minimum Qualifications This is a transfer opportunity for a current State employee with permanent service as a Secretary 2.
OR
70.1 Transfer: One year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a clerical, secretarial or keyboarding title, SG-13 or higher and demonstration of adequate keyboarding skills by prior service in a keyboarding title or successful completion of a Keyboard Specialist performance test.
Duties Description Under the supervision of the Agency Labor Relations Representative 3, the incumbent will be responsible for providing support to the Bureau of Labor Relations professional staff to ensure continuity and effectiveness of services to OGS and its hosted agencies. In addition, the incumbent will perform secretarial support to the Director of Personnel and the Director of Human Resources Management. This will include, but not be limited to:
• Research and gather information for interrogations, hearings, arbitrations, briefings and notices of discipline.
• Update the Bureau’s Labor Relations Module in computer based system.
• Assist with the Bureau’s training programs.
• Provide phone coverage and office support for the Human Resources Division.
• Maintain calendars for the Director of Personnel and the Bureau, including scheduling meetings and interrogations as well as making sure employees are served notices.
• Prepare and review correspondence for the Director of Personnel and the Bureau, including reviewing any and all letters coming through the Director’s and the Associate Commissioner’s offices for signature.
• Coordinate, track and log distribution of many types of correspondence and mail.
• Assist in the Business Unit Personnel Coordinator and Information Technology Representative roles for the Human Resources Division.
• Assist with, and track, performance measures for the Bureau.
This position requires the ability to assume responsibility for assigned tasks, to communicate effectively in all circumstances, to prioritize tasks received from multiple staff and maintain the confidentiality of certain matters. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and the skill to deal with customers in a professional and helpful manner. A professional appearance and attitude is helpful.
