Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have at least one year of permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 1; or must be active and reachable on the Civil Service Eligible List for Office Assistant 1; or in a position that is eligible for 70.1 transfer.

Duties Description Within the Disabilities & Aging Cluster, the Office Assistant 1 will work in the IT Resource Management Unit. The position will be responsible for maintaining the secured stockroom of IT equipment and office supplies.
The duties include, but are not limited to:
• Palletize and shrink wrap items, and re-arrange pallets as necessary when deliveries are received and shipments are made. Utilization of a pallet jack is necessary.
• Coordinate with vendors on dates and times to take receipt of IT equipment.
• Verify items received against purchase order.
• Utilize a hand-held scanner on newly delivered IT equipment that reads barcodes and converts them into serial numbers on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
• Create transactions in the Microsoft Access inventory system to track all IT equipment and pertinent information (e.g. serial numbers, ITR numbers), including receiving items as they are delivered from vendors, or transferring out items as they are shipped. Spot inventory checks should be done on a regular basis to verify counts in the system.
• Review the SharePoint ITR system for all requests for IT equipment in the “To Be Shipped” folder. Verify shipping information, edit requests with pertinent information and re-file them accordingly as shipments are carried out.
• Utilize UPS.com to create shipments, print shipping labels, cancel orders when needed, and track shipping history.
• Communicate when stock items or supplies are running low so they can be ordered to replenish inventory.
• Deliver IT equipment locally on campus to various units as per ITRs they submit.
• Distribute copier toner and copier paper to various units as requested.
• Assist with moves of local staff on the OD Heck campus as needed.
• Coordinate with vendor on asset recoveries of obsolete/broken IT equipment that no longer has a value to the agency.
• Transfer files into storage until expiration date.
• Check e-mails in a timely manner and inform management of important issues that may arise.
